This method is based on the faster and more complete degradation of organic matter in wastewater, in the presence of oxygen, from biosystems (microorganisms) that grow in the aggregates of the active sludge, which contain mainly bacteria and protozoa. This method is completely satisfactory and appropriate because:

characterized by the best possible output quality parameters
achieves by simple addition the partial denitrification of the waste
produces a limited amount of mud
is relatively simple and requires limited monitoring during operation and maintenance.

Description of operation of compact biological wastewater treatment

The generated waste will be led first to a grate device and then to a balance tank. This ensures the homogenization of the waste and the avoidance of hydraulic shocks in the downstream treatment plant.

Through a pumping station the waste is led to the biological treatment plant, first to the denitrification tank and then to the tank with immersed ultrafiltration membranes. The treated waste will then pass through a disinfection device and end up in a temporary storage tank for disposal.

The membrane unit together with the necessary equipment for its operation will be located in a suitable 20-foot container made of epoxy painted steel.
