The liquid waste treatment unit of the Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Chalkidiki, which operated in 2015, was the most emblematic project of the region and a reference point, as it combines high technology with perfect functionality. The treated effluents were characterized by the audit services below the limit set by the legislator. The produced sludge was a soil conditioner which was sold and continues to be sold in olive groves, but also in general in the wider agricultural market.
