The wastewater treatment facilities of the Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Chalkidiki, which operated in 2015, was the most emblematic project of the region and a reference point, as it combines high technology with perfect functionality. The treated effluents were characterized by the competent audit services below the limit set by the legislator. The produced sludge was a soil conditioner which was sold and continues to be available in olive groves, but also in general in the wider agricultural market.
