A new-generation DAF system with a capacity of 20 m³/hr was installed in the existing wastewater treatment plant of the company.
The system consists of two distinct sections:
(a) Chemical Treatment, and
(b) Flotation – Sludge Removal with a Surface Skimmer.
It removes up to 75% of the organic load in the form of suspended solids.
The suspended solids constitute a recoverable energy resource for biogas plants, where they are collected, as they are rich in energy-bearing compounds.
The system is prefabricated, entirely constructed from stainless steel (INOX), and can be easily and quickly installed on a reinforced concrete base.
The semi-treated effluent exiting the DAF system contains a significantly reduced organic load, enabling the existing biological treatment unit to operate more efficiently. This enhancement increases its overall treatment capacity and ensures that the final effluent complies with the qualitative standards required by the receiving body.
