Hydrochloric acid with a content of 37% has all certificates of suitability for treatment drinking water.
Hydrochloric acid solution is a strong inorganic acid, very corrosive, with many and important industrial uses. Its smell is irritating and suffocating. Pure hydrochloric acid is completely colorless, while commercial hydrochloric acid is yellowish because it contains minimal impurities of iron salts. Reacts with bases, various organic compounds and solutes of metals that are more electropositive than hydrogen.
It is particularly suitable for neutralizing the alkalinity of wastewater. It is widely used in the chemical industry as a raw material for the production of numerous commercial products. However, it is also used in many other cases, such as, for the cleaning of toilet bowls, for the cleaning of walls from the many calcifications, for the cleaning of metals before their galvanization with zinc, for the production of gelatin, in the treatment of leather, etc.

Sulfuric acid, commonly vitriol, is a colorless and relatively viscous, oily liquid, which is soluble in water in any proportion, releasing large amounts of heat. It is highly corrosive and caustic acid (causes severe burns in contact with the skin), as well as oxidizing in high concentrations and high temperatures. In addition, sulfuric acid has a strong dehydrating effect and when it comes in contact with organic matter (eg wood, paper) it carbonates it, removing water molecules.
It is particularly suitable for neutralizing the alkalinity of wastewater e.g. the chemical reaction to neutralize the caustic soda of the waste gives as a final product neutral sodium sulfate:
H 2 SO 4 + 2NaOH – & gt; Na 2 SO 4 + 2H 2 O
The 35% sulfuric acid solution is also used as a battery fluid (electrolyte).
