At the NIKZAS S.A. dairy facility, located in Makrychori, Larissa, a new, state-of-the-art secondary Biological Wastewater Treatment System was constructed, incorporating a Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) unit.
The project was designed, organized, and constructed by our company, tailored to the specific needs of NIKZAS S.A. We undertook the entire process—from a bare plot of land to the turnkey delivery of a fully operational biological treatment plant.
The modern facility at NIKZAS S.A. includes the following components:
-
Lifting Pumping Station
-
Fine Screening Unit
-
Segmented Homogenization Tank
-
DAF (Dissolved Air Flotation) System
-
Primary Aeration Tank (Bioreactor)
-
Primary Sedimentation Tank
-
Secondary Aeration Tank (Bioreactor)
-
Secondary Sedimentation Tank
-
Disinfection Tank and Discharge to the Natural Recipient
The system is fully compliant with the specifications of JMD 145116.
The sludge treatment line consists of an aerated thickening tank, while the sludge is naturally dewatered in drying beds. Final dewatering is completed by removing the dried sludge, which is used as a soil conditioner for specific crops such as barley, cereals, etc.
The project integrates full technological support at all control levels, featuring a real-time telemetry monitoring system.
In terms of energy efficiency, all motors are equipped with inverters, and their operating times are monitored and recorded by a SCADA system.
The use of high-quality materials and stainless steel (INOX) for all metal components ensures the longevity and added value of the project, in line with our company’s high-quality standards. Furthermore, the design has been meticulously crafted, providing a robust and aesthetically modern result.
We must emphasize that it is a great honor for us that NIKZAS S.A. has chosen our company for a second time to construct its environmental protection infrastructure during its continued growth.
